Isla's 1st Birthday Photos

We have been working with Sarah McMillian of McChillin Photography in Charlotte since we first learned we were pregnant in 2011. She has documented our journey every step of the way. She took our pregnancy announcement photos, maternity photos, newborn photos and Isla's six month photos! She even took snapshots of our DIY nursery reveal for Isla.

Most recently, lil Miss Isla hit another big milestone... the big O-N-E and of course we used McChillin Photography once again to capture this beautiful time in our lives for Isla's one year photos.

I can not express how much I LOVE each and every one of these beautiful pictures. I cannot even pick a favorite. We are going to cherish these precious moments captured in these pictures forever!

I’m so in love with this quote I found on pinterest! So in love, that my girlfriend Kristen and I decided we needed to frame it for our nurseries! She whipped this up in photoshop. It says, "No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all. you're the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside." 

I also gave one to my mom on Mother’s day.

Kristen is one of my best friends and she is expecting too! We have known each other for nearly 4 years now and our friendship has grown so much! Her little bundle of joy is due the second week of July. It’s been such a blessing and awesome experience to be going through the same things at the same time and just to have someone to share all of our experiences with. Even though Kristen lives 4 hours away, we talk almost daily and I feel so close to her. She is expecting a girl too, so that makes it even more fun!

I look forward to our scheduled play dates once the girls arrive. Hopefully, we can meet in Asheville later this year for a mommy/daughter day. I just know they are going to be best friends like their mommies!

An Ode to the Birthday Girl!

Today is not only the shortest day of the year; it’s one of the most special days of the year too! Today is my dear friend Andrea’s birthday.  Andrea is the kind of person you always want to be around. I think the first day we met, we instantly became best friends. She would do absolutely anything for her friends and puts all of her friends’ needs, worries and concerns ahead of her own. She is beautiful inside and out.

She has been such a blessing to my life and I thank God for giving me such a wonderful friend to lean on, enjoy spending time with and talk to about anything and everything. I know Andrea is a lifetime friend. 

So cheers to you Andrea on your special day! Know that you are a special person to so many people and you have brought so much joy to my life. I look forward to many more lasting memories to come. I love you to Boone and back, and then to the moon and back!
